Caring Committee (CC) provides ministerial assistance
to the members and friends of the Unitarian Universalist
Church of Spartanburg (UUCS), addressing their joys and
concerns. This is accomplished by sending cards, visiting
the homebound or hospitalized, making phone calls, sending
e-mails, preparing and delivering meals, providing transportation,
and organizing memorial service receptions. The CC meets
at 9:00 a.m. on the third Monday of the month, at the
UUCS. The committee has seven other members who represent
a demographic cross section of our church. |

Committee
on Ministry: Chair - Open
E-mail - ministry@uucs.org |
| The
committee’s duties include counsel and support to
the minister as she/he deals with ongoing matters related
to her/his ministry with our congregation. This group,
receiving feedback from congregational members and taking
it to the minister with recommendations based on the nature
of these observations, is basically the “eyes &
ears” for our minister. It is, therefore, important
that those with input make the minister and/or a member
of this committee aware of their concerns or opinion in
order for the group to be effective. The Committee on
Ministry is also responsible for helping the minister
to assess her/his over-all performance, and making recommendations
to the board concerning salary increases. Terms on this
four (4) member committee will stagger. At the end of
each year, 2 of its members will rotate off, allowing
2 new participants to serve on this committee. They will
be recommended by the minister & appointed by the
Board of Trustees. When or if the minister leaves, the
ministerial committee will be disbanded; a new transition
committee will be formed for an Interim, followed by a
new committee for the new called settled minister. |
