UUCS Communication System



Please use these directions for reserving a room, posting on the calendar, and submitting information to church and outside publications.

Reservation and Calendar: To reserve a room for your meeting or event and have your event posted on the church website calendar, email:

   communication@uucs.org

using the word “calendar” in the subject line. Lead time — at least one week before use of room and any additional time needed to get promotional material in church publications.

Church publications: When you receive an email from the Office Administrator confirming that you are on the church calendar and have a room number you may then publicize your event. To get your information or an article into a church publication, email:

   communication@uucs.org

using the word Web, Unison, Happenings, and/or Update or Bulletin in the subject line. The subject line can include all publication names. (The weekly information sheets which used to appear as inserts in the service bulletin will now be headed the "Weekly UUpdates" and will appear as single-page information sheets for people to pick up. However, you may continue to use the word bulletin or Bulletin in the subject line of your email for information that you want to be available on Sunday.) Deadlines: Website – two weeks to a month before event; Unison – midnight of the 24th of preceding month; Happenings - Sunday night 11:00 PM; Bulletin/Weekly UUpdates – Wednesday 11:00 PM.

Web Master: To contact the Webmaster about using a blog on our church website for your event or committee, email:

    communication@uucs.org using the word “Webmaster” in the subject line.

Bulletin Boards: To get your information on the church bulletin boards in the fellowship hall or help create a flyer or sign up sheet for bulletin boards, email:

    communication@uucs.org using the word “Board” in the subject line. Deadline: recommend at least month before event.

Internal Reporters: To request a church reporter to help you write an article about your event or activity for the Unison, email:

    communication@uucs.org using the word “Internal” in the subject line.

External Reporters: To coordinate with the Communication Council and have an article about your event or activity written and submitted to publications outside of the church, email:

    communication@uucs.org using the word “External” in the subject line.

Face Book: To submit church information and photos to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg Facebook page, become a friend of that page and submit following Facebook recommended steps.

The automated computer system used to forward your email to the proper church person is SPELL SENSITIVE, and can be in upper or lower case. Please be mindful of your spelling in the subject line so you know your information will be forwarded.
